What I think about it....:Current tensions over the Temple Mount are Arab provocations

Friendly Greetings, Family, Most of the tricks our Arab cousins use, or attempt to use against Jews aren't nearly as clever as they believe them to be, especially after they haul out the same violent rhetoric (and it's always violent, isn't it?) as they are doing during this current flack over "coming to protect the Mount" nonsense.

The first time, I sat in disbelief which turned to cold anger when later those famous wheelbarrows filled with large chunks of rock and pavement turned up hidden in several places on the Temple Mount. These were not the pebbles thrown by children, but were deadly weapons, intended to maim, and possibly (hopefully?) kill the innocent. And for what? I read on J-Post that the same calls have gone out, calling the same Palestinian (for lack of a more accurate term) thugs to gather again in the name of murder. Death Dogs.

It's obviously (to me) meant to be a trap set to lure our younger, harder-headed Jewish men to their harm or death. Were I present, and younger (and therefor more able to get out of the way of falling debris) I would no doubt be, by this time, "feeling called out" and ready to charge up the Mount for Zion, if for no additional reason than to express my frustration with these Arab muck-raisers and the lies they dispense with such ease and vitriol. Lucky for me, that's not the way it is -- for me. Because I can still feel those emotions, I can understand what the younger Jews of Jerusalem must be feeling right now. There is never a break, is there?

And yet, the other side complains that these things are happening more often. Well, sure they are -- they are behind these things happening in the first place. They'd know, right? We're not supposed to be smart enough to see it for what it is. We are to be ruled by our emotions and not by our heads. But, you see, this is where the Arabs misunderstand us the most; we are far more intelligent, better educated, better bred and more capable of rational thought coupled with practical action on our part than they, and it's an historical fact. King David was a successful warrior who could make a doosey of a mistake when he made one, but was still one of the most brilliant men of his day.

Abraham, Issac, Jacob (please forgive the common, anglicized spellings) King Solomon and Moses; their blood flows in our veins, their DNA is in ours, today. We got the smarts; the Arabs got the lack of imagination, apparently. Had Ishmael been wise enough to treat his half-brother with respect, perhaps none of this would be happening today, it goes back that far. Each time they stoop lower, we grow stronger and stand higher in stature as a people. As they express their growing desperation for battle, we stand back yet a bit farther observing, considering, and in the end, winning another battle -- a battle of wills.

For this reason, I feel hopeful that at some future date, we, the Jewish citizens of the Jewish State of Israel will win, not just the battles, but the war. I feel it's a little sad that so many Rabbi's have felt the need to become vocal about the Halactic implications of entering the Temple Mount, and appear less confident that the Jewish men, and women, of Jerusalem will be intelligent and reserved enough not to be drawn into a transparent attempt to ignite another intifada.

I dearly love our religious, and appreciate -so much- their ongoing commitment to keep the Jewish people aware of what being Jewish really means and reminding us what is expected by Hashem. Can we continue making the same mistakes our forbearers did and expect to continue to live free in the most beautiful and holy place in the world? We've been here before, after all, and we know what can happen. That said, I wish those Rabbi's would quiet down a little about who (meaning all of us) should avoid the Temple Mount, when (after some purification ritual) we should be able to visit our birthright (and pray there) as we see fit.

It may just come down to: the only way to end this constant rioting over the Mount would be to bite that bullet and take control over it back unto Israel where it belongs. That would be my pre-condition for peace talks with Hamas and the PA. We can't very well get that Temple built the way things are, and time, as-they-say, is a-wastin'.

My Response:

That's odd since my studies indicate that Mohammad was a murdering thief who created this creepy religion from a mix of the worst of Christianity and Judaism, and then only to grasp power from the religious leaders of his time who wanted to kill him for murder, theft, rape and heresy. Islam is a garbage pseudo-religion, beneath humanity and only suitable for the thugs and rapists who created it.

Now, undoubtedly, as in the other two religions (Christianity is also a lie, on a grand scale) there are probably very sincerely good, and religiously oriented people who have good hearts and minds, understand the value of life, peace and liberty, and it's horrible to know the pain and suffering they must endure.

But, they are not born that way, and at some point they can choose to move away from the false religions. Well, poor females, they are chattel, poor possessions and domestic slaves, and getting free is a risky proposition that often brings death as a consequence, it's true.

No one should die for their religion in these modern times, if they ever should have. But to follow a religion that incorporates wholesale murder of innocents as part and parcel of its philosophy, using human shields, raping women then killing them for complaining, honor killings, lies, lies and more lies, demanded to be taken as truth -- this is a sickness, not a religion.

Any deity who favored such things could only be a devil, certainly not the creator. It just wouldn't make sense. So, we are not all ignorant of Islam -- we have done our research, read the books, watched the news services, studied history. Islam is the existential failure.

We are going to have to stand up for what we believe in someday, probably sooner than later. G-d Bless the Jewish State of Israel. May it outlast the rest of the world, and yes, I would die for Israel and the Truth of Judaism, the one true religion worshiping the One True G-d.

My heartfelt thanks to our Congressman Robert Wexler, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe, and Congressman Elton Gallegly, Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Europe, for sending a letter to Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt to"repudiate the anti-Semitic newspaper article in Aftonbladet". (link to .pdf file listed at bottom)

Israel has a real friend in Congressman Wexler -- in many United States senators and House representatives, in fact. From what I've been reading, support for Israel is growing again nationwide, coming back around to where it normally is. The Islamists aren't as smart or as powerful as they believe themselves to be, and are we surprised? It wasn't Israeli's who killed 3000+ innocent office workers on that bitter September morning not so long ago. We never forget in America. Never.

No matter who is in the oval office, Israel will always have important friends in the United States. It's bi-partisan and it's forever.

As for the general public, many are ill-informed, hence this blog (not to imply that many read it, yet, and I'm an admitted amateur (and a bit too opinionated, I suppose), but I would like to think it gets a read now and then. America, it is said, loves "the Underdog." The problem is, sometimes the public doesn't quite grasp the concept, and just sides with a dirty dog or two. In time, though, it tires of the whining, and notices the truth. That time, in a widespread sense, is nearer than some think.

The American media drives opinion, and Palestinian sob-stories make for good press, but thanks to the Internet, the truth is out there for anyone willing to spend a little time searching for it. I would recommend that more Israeli sites provide captioning in English. Beautiful though it is, Hebrew is a radical departure from English, making it difficult to get much information that hasn't been pre-sifted for an American or European audience, not by Israel, but by the respective governments and media agencies. You see my point. Back to my point: Thanks, again, Congressman Wexler and Gallegly.

USING FRICTION AS CURRENCY

Does the United States only appear to be playing footsie with the Arabs, using the friction generated against Israel as currency in a vast game of Oil Country Monopoly?

Could the rational be that to side openly with, to be fully supportive of Israel (and prove it), would cost the United States, in the short run?

Every American president sees himself as the Middle East Peace Messiah -- why?

Could it be that it's an easy way, he appears to assume, to make a foreign policy name for himself. Why else interfere, right-out-of-the-gate, in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation -- a true ally and friend?

Question: Does Israel unofficially play along, at least at first?

Is it actually just a deadly game, where lives are used as board pieces (I get the race car, you get the PLO?)

Bush, Jr, talked tough, but was mostly "hands-off" and bless him for that, at least. Here, he was smarter than our current president, in my opinion, who may, at last, be learning the lesson every American president learns, as I predicted he would in my very first or second blog post, some time ago.

If you don' take a side, you can't be effective, and only a fool would choose to back a people who use their own women and children as walking bombs and shields as the side to support.

America adds to the problem, rather than detracts from it, and would best stay at home, quietly supporting the only true Middle Eastern democracy in existence, Israel. I say only because: who does not believe that Iraq's new Democracy will bow to, and become an Islamic regime once more, given the chance?

This is bitterly cynical of me to say: I hope that the Post World War creation of Israel was not merely a means to bring Jews into one place where they could be picked off more easily than spread about the planet, or to be used as fodder in a perpetual game for power with the, oil-rich Islamic nations and their ever-expanding fanatical population.

With America pressuring Israel to limit growth, to stop adding homes and schools and infrastructure for it's children, and their children, and demanding that Israel place it's very existence in jeopardy by recreating itself as a non-defensible entity, beset on all sides by enemies, too close to avoid -- it is one, very sad, possibility.

America is offering no alternatives. The EU is even worse, in my opinion. I say, unless another country has something really helpful to offer - stay out of it. Israel has been around this long, it will still be around a long time from now.

It belongs to G-d.

Personally, I believe the first-term president who takes care of his own people and rigorously defends his domestic agenda at home will carry more weight with the rest of the world in his second term (assuming he gets one) -- than one who allows his ego to drive him to vainglorious attempts to form the world's future to his own ideals, (particularly when they are suspect).

Of course, there could be many things which we-the-people don't know. If it concerns us, then we should know. If we make assumptions based on an incomplete picture, whose fault is that? If we blindly accept the unacceptable, we truly are the real losers in the game.

I was enjoying WeJew tonight, a favorite website, and ran across privately made films of the violent expulsions from Homesh and the heart-breaking poignant routing of Gush Katif.

I cried and cried as I watched. Something like this happened before, when Nazis took Jews from their homes to "new lives". To make way for murderers and savages. Why can't the governments see the parallel?

We are told that those Jews, in Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, the Netherlands, the Balkans, Italy, Greece, Spain, all of Europe, went quietly. And all the homosexuals. And all the great minds and the enlightened, the intellectuals and the religious. Anyone and everyone the filthy Nazi's didn't like, or didn't trust.

I doubt they left quietly. It was only the survivors that made it to the camps to die.

How can it BE? That it happens again and again NOW??? While the destination differs, the action is about the same. And by our own people, too.

And American Jews sneer at the Outposts, blaming them for the world's troubles that somehow are settled on beloved Israel, who just want to be left alone to
BE JEWISH! For G-d's Sake!

The settlers are heroes!
They are my heroes.

We should be filling the streets, crying for justice for our people being expelled and carted off from their homes and livelihoods for the sake of
blank, blank-blanks?*

People who ignore these atrocities are very like those who ignored the Nazis. When we are those people, how can we not be cursed for it?

While, at one time, I enjoyed and highly recommended Israel National News (Arutz 7) as a great site for reading up to date information, I can now call it, at best, a pretty-good site since it has all but completely discontinued updating it's video feeds, a money issue with CAST, I'm guessing, the broadcaster that also supplies the Jerusalem Post's video feeds. I wish there were more sources for breaking news format information concerning Israel, Jerusalem in particular.

The Jewish TV Network site has a good daily news feed that varies in length, but is always worth watching. Alas, there are many news and entertainment video feeds available, but only in Hebrew and the Arabic languages. It's still fun to tune in and watch channel 2 from Jerusalem. It would be wonderful if they would begin the use of English captioning for their American audience. I know how important it is, though, to learn Hebrew, and I wonder if that doesn't explain the lack thereof.

Public Law 104-45 104th Congress an Act

To provide for the relocation of the United States Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
Section 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the "Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995".
Sec. 2. FINDINGS. (1-17)
The Congress makes the following findings:
(1) Each sovereign nation, under international law and custom, may designate its own capital.
(2) Since 1950, the city of Jerusalem has been the capital of the State of Israel.
(3) The city of Jerusalem is the seat of Israel´s President, Parliament, and Supreme Court, and the site of numerous government ministries and social and cultural institutions.
(4) The city of Jerusalem is the spiritual center of Judaism, and is also considered a holy city by the members of other religious faiths.
(5) From 1948-1967, Jerusalem was a divided city and Israeli citizens of all faiths as well as Jewish citizens of all states were denied access to holy sites in the area controlled by Jordan.
(6) In 1967, the city of Jerusalem was reunited during the conflict known as the Six Day War.
(7) Since 1967, Jerusalem has been a united city administered by Israel, and persons of all religious faiths have been guaranteed full access to holy sites within the city.
(8) This year marks the 28th consecutive year that Jerusalem has been administered as a unified city in which the rights of all faiths have been respected and protected.
(9) In 1990, the congress unanimously adopted Senate Concurrent Resolution 106, which declares that the Congress " strongly believes that Jerusalem must remain an undivided city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group are protected".
(10) In 1992, the United States Senate and House of Representatives unanimously adopted Senate Concurrent Resolution 113 of the One Hundred Second Congress to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem, and reaffirming congressional sentiment that Jerusalem must remain an undivided city.
(11) The September 13, 1993, Declaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government Arrangements lays out a timetable for the resolution of "final status" issues, including Jerusalem.
(12) The agreement on the Gaza strip and Jericho Area was signed May 4, 1994, beginning the five-year transitional period laid out in the Declaration of Principles.
(13) In March of 1995, 93 member of the United states Senate signed a letter to Secretary of State Warren Christopher encouraging "planning to begin now" for relocation of the United States Embassy to the City of Jerusalem.
(14) In June of 1993, 257 members of The United States House of Representatives signed a letter to the Secretary of State Warren Christopher stating that the relocation of the United states Embassy to Jerusalem "should take place no later that 1999".
(15) The United States maintains its embassy in the functioning capital of every country except in the case of our democratic friend and strategic ally, the State of Israel.
(16) The United States conducts official meetings and other business in the city of Jerusalem in de facto recognition of its status as the capital of Israel.
(17) In 1996, the State of Israel will celebrate the 3,000th anniversary of the Jewish presence in Jerusalem since King David´s entry.
SEC. 3. TIMETABLE.
(a) Statement of the Policy of the United States.
(1) Jerusalem should remain an undivided city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group are protected. (2) Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel; and (3) the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999.
(b) Opening Determination.---Not more than 50 percent of the funds appropriated to the Department of State for fiscal year 1999 for "Acquisition and Maintenance of Buildings Abroad" may be obligated until the Secretary of State determines and reports to Congress that the United States Embassy In Jerusalem has officially opened.
SEC. 4. FISCAL YEARS 1996 AND 1997 FUNDING.
(a) Fiscal year 1996----Of the funds authorized to be appropriated for " Acquisition and Maintenance of Buildings Abroad" for the Department of State in fiscal year 1996, not less than $25,000,000 should be made available until expended only for construction and other costs associated with the establishment of the United States Embassy in Israel in the capital of Jerusalem.
(b) (a) Fiscal year 1996----Of the funds authorized to be appropriated for " Acquisition and Maintenance of Buildings Abroad" for the Department of State in fiscal year 1997, not less than $25,000,000 should be made available until expended only for construction and other costs associated with the establishment of the United States Embassy in Israel in the capital of Jerusalem.
SEC. 5 REPORT ON IMPLEMENTATION.
Not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State shall submit a report to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate detailing the Department of State´s plan to implement this Act. Such report shall include
(1) estimated dates of completion for each phase of the establishment of the United States Embassy, including site identification, land acquisition, architectural, engineering and construction surveys, site preparation, and construction; and (2) an estimate of the funding necessary to implement this Act, including all costs associated with establishing the United States Embassy in Israel in the capital of Jerusalem.
SEC. 6. SEMIANNUAL REPORTS.
At the time of the submission of the President´s fiscal 1997 budget request, and every six months thereafter, the Secretary of State shall report to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate on the progress made toward opening the United States Embassy in Jerusalem.
SEC. 7. PRESIDENTIAL WAIVER.
(a) Waiver Authority.
(1) Beginning on October 1, 1998, the president may suspend the limitations set forth in section 3(b) for a period of six months if he determines and reports to Congress in advance that such suspension is necessary to protect the national security interests of the United States. (2) The President may suspend such limitations for an additional six month period at the end of any period during which the suspension is in effect under this subsections if the President determines and reports to Congress in advance of the additional suspension that the additional suspension is necessary to protect the national security interests of the United States. (3) A report under paragraph (1) or (2) shall include (A) a statement of the interests affected by the limitation that the President seeks to suspend; and (B) a discussion of the manner in which the limitation affects the interests. (b) Applicability of Waiver to Availability of Funds.---If the President exercises the authority set forth in subsection (a) in a fiscal year for the purpose set forth in such section 3(b) except to the extent that the limitation is suspended in such following fiscal year by reason of the exercise of the authority in subsection (a).
SEC. 8. DEFINITION.
As used in this Act, the term "United States Embassy" means the offices of the United States Diplomatic mission and the residence of the United States chief of mission.
{Note by the Office of the Federal Register: The foregoing Act, having been presented to the President of the United States on Thursday, October 26, 1995, and not having been returned by him to the House of Congress in which it originated within the time prescribed by the Constitution of the United States, has become law without his signature on November 8, 1995.}

Every six months, US presidents have routinely issued the required waiver statement to deprive the above bill of any practical impact. Below is a sample waiver.

This a domestic issue that s so shocking I just had to put it n my blog in the hope that someone might see it, since the original publication is not something the general public would normally run across. the gist is: We are being poisoned, I guess.

DALevit: How long will it be before the European Union and The United States come to grips with -- and admit the fact (see quote above, for example) that -- nothing Israel does will ever be enough (witness what happened when they returned Gaza for Peace; is it any wonder Israel came down hard on the Palestinian army earlier this year?) and no amount of land, money, or other concessions will ever bring about an impossible peace?

The Palestinians and most of the Arab world won't accept peace as an answer.

They want every Israeli citizen dead.

They want their blood.

According to their own spokespeople, some of them want ours, too (Iran, for example, but take your pick).

Come on, world, get some sense, now! You're backing the wrong horse if you back the Arabs or Persians against Israel. All Israel ever asked for is to be left alone to live, work and worship in the manner of their own choosing, in their historic homeland. They are a modern Democratic Nation, a US ally, and yet -- the US comes close to bringing the whole country down.

Think what that would MEAN! Think it through.

Islamic Mosques where once stood churches and synagogues, Arabic the language of the land, Honor Killings in the streets, Intolerance, religious genocide --NOT JUST IN ISRAEL, but ULTIMATELY IN AMERICA & EUROPE! You know it's true. Why don't you care?

Get educated, people! Read the history, visit authentic online sites (see my links at left, for examples), search the web and do the little bit of mental work to arrive at the real truth of it. Israel is the "Good Guys". America is precariously close to being the "Bad Guys" (think IRAQ) again.

MOST AMERICAN JEWS ARE NOT GETTING IT

...the TRUTH, that is.

A recent Washington meeting of several invited groups of American Jewish representatives, only one of which was Orthodox, by the way, officially left the impression that American Jews are generally in favor of the administration's treatment of, and attitude toward, The Nation of Israel.

Obviously, they just don't get it.

American Jews, that is.

This administration hasn't understood or shown any "EMPATHY" toward Israel since its inception. I no longer expect anything from it, other than to continue along the path it has laid out for itself, may G-d help them.

My purpose will be to reprint important articles, personal observations (mine and others'), news items direct from Israel, and to (in any way possible) disseminate the truth to American Jews, and/or anyone who wants to understand the situation and what the truth really is, as regards the settlements, the Palestinian problem and the current political state of affairs from the viewpoint of an American Jew, yours truly. I can not speak for everyone, unlike the many who believe they can; I can only speak from my own heart and mind.

This blog will, I hope, be my own attempt to spread truth where today, in America especially, people are overexposed by the mainstream media to an amended truth, i.e., questionable -- except few bother to question it. It won't be an easy task, since, for the last eight or so years, Americans have been fed a regular diet of lies, half-truths and Arab-inspired claptrap -- so much so, that most can no longer identify the truth when it is presented to them.

If I change one mind and heart, I will justify my place on this Earth.
